How to Fish:[]

Unlike many other games, Fishing in Craftopia is refreshingly fast-paced, with almost no waiting!

  1. Find fishing spots along the coasts or in ponds. They are bubbly areas with a few visible fish swimming in circles.
  2. Equip the Fishing Rod. Aim your crosshairs at the fishing spot and click to cast. If you are too far away and your cast falls short, you will automatically cancel (there are no fish in open water; only at Fishing Spots).
  3. Only a second or three after the bobber lands in the Fishing Spot, there will be a splash indicating you have a bite. You must click again to reel in the fish as immediately as possible after seeing the splash. Delay too long and you will catch nothing.
  4. Caught fish will be flung violently through the air to land on the ground somewhere behind you. Continue fishing until the Fishing Spot disappears (usually 2-3 successful reels) then go collect them afterwards.
  5. Process the fish into Fillets with a Filleting Machine. Different qualities of fish will result in different qualities of Fillets.

Tips:[]

  • If the fishing spot is too far out for you to effectively reach with your line build a few temporary wood floors to stand on that will let you get closer. (You can build them while swimming.)
  • Since unprocessed fish take up a lot of inventory room, it's recommended you bring one or two fillet machines along with you, to process the fish right on the spot. Fillets take up fewer inventory slots than a broad assortment of fish. At this time, there does not appear to be a use for un-filleted fish. So feel free to fillet them all.
  • Shrimp can be used without being filleted.
  • Fillets, especially the common variety, aren't used only for food, (Example: blue scaled roofs on buildings) so you may wish to stockpile some instead of immediately turning them all into food.
