Farming is one of the key features of Craftopia.

Description[]

Farmauto2

20+ crops are available for you to grow. Of course, you can grow crops one by one, but there are more you can do. With the power of agricultural machines, you can have large scale fields. While enjoying your self-sufficient life, why not make your colorful orchards?

Simple Crop Farming Techniques[]

Bestfriend

A Rotating saw! The farmer's best friend.

There are a couple simple techniques to take advantage of to better your farm. These tricks are for crops and not for animals.

Seeding Multiple Farms[]

The player can easily set themselves up to stretch their seeds to crop 4x the farms. It's actually harder to seed a single farm compared to seeding 2 or 4 farms.

Seeding 1 farm with a single seed.

If you are in need of a single farm to be planted, be sure to stand in the very center facing straight down the middle.

Seeding 2 farms with a single seed.

Seeding two farms is the easiest by standing either in the very middle of the bottom farm facing up or by standing at the center in-between them.

Seeding 4 farms with a single seed.

Seeding 4 farms is a little trickier but still pretty easy to do. Stand in the middle of the bottom two farms facing forward. If you are too far away or close to the center, you may end up seeding only 2 farms. Still, once you get the area in which you seed 4, you can even sprint while farming nailing it every time.

Simple Automation[]

Thanks to the Rotating saw, Sprinklers, chests, and Absorbers, you can automate most of the farming when it comes to most crops except wheat, which can be fully automated.

Farmauto2

The only thing that can't be automated is the seeding of farms (when automating wheat you can skip this first step), so thanks to being able to seed farms in a 2x2 layout, you should always plan your farm by multiples of 2 (2x2, 2x8, 6x6, etc.).

Sprinklers can water a massive 4x4 (except the corners) set of farms. So with that in mind with the seeding multiples of 2x2, means you should avoid multiples of six such as 2x6, 4x6, or 6x6.

The last thing we need to worry about is the Absorbers. They are a little tricky, but can easily reach a 2x2 (2x3 with a little elbow grease).

And lastly is the Rotating Saw, which watches for anything that can be cut down and does just that. This raises two problems;

  1. Since it cuts all crop types, bushes, and trees, it may travel off your farm to cut nearby resources. Some place a fence to keep it in, however, since trees/bushes (as of now) do not grow back, simply clearing the field will work.
  2. When harvesting wheat with Sprinklers and the Rotating Saw can quickly get out of control do to wheat auto planting. This can easily lag your game especially in multiplayer. The best solution is to retrieve either the sprinkler or saw to solve this.
